From the Wimbledon Chase Primary School
Three times, Ofsted has identified Wimbledon Chase as a highly effective school.
At the time, we were one of just 26 schools in the nation to receive this honour.
We also became a Beacon School in 1996, becoming the first school in the Borough of Merton to do so, and we upheld this level for 5 years.
From 1924 to 1965, Wimbledon Chase served as the Wimbledon County Grammar School for Girls before converting to a middle school for students in grades 9 through 13.
We are fortunate to have lovely grounds and top-notch amenities, such as wide-ranging sports fields, two cutting-edge ICT suites, a roomy library, a cooking room, a music room, a nursery for 104 kids, and a fully-stocked gymnasium.
After completing this process, we currently have 630 students total, including the nursery.
We take pride in being an inclusive school for all students, not just those in our Additionally Resourced Provision but also those who have special needs or learning challenges.
Students at Wimbledon Chase consistently outperform national and local averages on the KS2 SATs.
Our instructors are gifted and dedicated.
Over 50 extracurricular organisations and activities are available before school, during lunch, and after school.
Wimbledon Chase has strong relationships with parents, and we think that kids learn best when there is a strong parent-child relationship.
Ofsted identified this as one of the school's strengths.
We are aware that Opportunity, Inspiration, and Celebration sum up Wimbledon Chase's distinctive trade brand.
The kids are encouraged to discover their gifts and skills; they are given numerous opportunity to hone these skills; and as a school, we celebrate and take pleasure in our triumphs whenever we can.
