The Whetstone Field Primary School Governing Body is dedicated to collaborating closely with the Headteacher to establish and uphold a culture of high expectations that supports our desire to guarantee that all students receive a high-quality education, that they are safe and healthy, and that each student, regardless of the attainment level they begin at, makes progress throughout their time at the school.
Active learning is prioritised in a community where people are friendly to one another and take care of one another.
The governors are essential to the Whetstone Community.
Formally, we have three key roles: strategic input to support the Head Teacher in his leadership role for Whetstone; a focus on attainment and progress of all kids to ensure that education and learning meet the needs of everyone; and finally oversight over the effective and efficient use of financial and other resources.
In the course of our duties, we keep an eye on teaching and learning standards throughout the school. We do this not only through formal meetings with the headteacher and staff at the Governing Body level, but also through sporadic site visits to observe teaching and learning in action.
One or more elements of the curriculum are under the supervision of our Link governors.
We sincerely hope that you would take advantage of the chances that occur to visit your child at school and to observe the work they complete if you are the parent or caretaker of a child who is already enrolled at Whetstone Field Primary School.
