Impact on Student Progress: The sequence of lessons in Key Stage 1 enables pupils to build on prior learning, though some pupils struggle with basic number facts.

From the Tuel Lane Infant School
In 1879, our school was constructed. The Victorian structure has several unique elements and a quirky appeal. It has a pleasant and welcoming ambiance inside that is light and open. We have 5 classrooms, Rabbits, Badgers, Hedgehogs, Squirrels and Foxes and a 42 place Nursery. The vast majority of students who graduate from Tuel Lane at the end of Key Stage 1 (age 7) transfer to Christ Church Junior School. Most go on to Ryburn Valley High School from there. Some kids are successful in getting into North Halifax Grammar or Crossley Heath School each year. During our last OFSTED inspection (January 2018) Her Majesty's Inspector said... This school continues to be good and there is a clear vision for improvement. You are focused on ensuring that the school remains at the heart of the community. Your meticulous attention to the holistic development of the child ensures that kids learn well and have fun growing up. Our goal is to support every student in becoming successful, happy, and healthy. We take great pride in our kid-friendly, entertaining environment. Our kids cooperate and look out for one another. Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills are at the heart of our curriculum, but we are very proud of our strong teaching and learning in Music, Art and P.E. We place a lot of value on the connection between our homes and our schools. We make sure Tuel Lane is open, approachable and welcoming to parents at all times. Parents are involved in Family Learning, open days and frequent consultations. You are very welcome to come and look around school, meet the staff and talk to the children. I am very proud of our school and of the flying start it gives to our young pupils.
