I'd like to extend a sincere welcome to you and your family on behalf of everyone here at St. William of York Primary School. We are a one-form primary school with a nursery that serves students from 2 to 11 years old. We take pride in our inclusive ethos and accept students from all various faiths and backgrounds as the sole primary school in Thornton. In December 2018, an Ofsted Section 5 Inspection was conducted on the school, which resulted in a "GOOD" rating. Following a Section 48 Inspection, the school was given a "OUTSTANDING" rating in January 2015. These two verdicts are a reflection of the effort that all parties involved—students, staff, governors, and parents—have made to make St. William of York a successful and pleasant institution. We have great relationships with parents, the church, and the larger community and are quite proud of our school. A variety of extracurricular activities are available at the school, and there is also a Free Breakfast Club. On the school grounds, there is also an after-school club. At St. William of York, we take great pleasure in being a welcoming, kind, and compassionate school whose mission is to support each child in realising their full potential. I like st William of York but the people to me and the teachers don’t notice and I had only had 3 nice teachers in my whole experience I am in year six
