We offer a broad and varied curriculum to guarantee that all of our students acquire the essential knowledge and skills they need to succeed in school and as contributing members of society, but we also give them access to a wide range of learning activities both inside and outside the classroom.
Through thoughtfully designed and original project-led activities, which enable instructors to build on fundamental knowledge and abilities throughout a wide-ranging and fascinating curriculum, daily learning in phonics, reading, writing, and mathematics is supplemented.
Specialized music and sports instruction, as well as weekly outdoor learning opportunities, enhance the education of all of our students.
Every child spends time outside learning at least once a week, and we provide all students from nursery through year 6 with a selection of day and residential trips in addition to The Prince William Award through "SkillForce" for our KS2 students.
Our classrooms are fully furnished with interactive whiteboards, i-Pads, laptops for teachers and students, laptops for learning about computing, and other cutting-edge technology. We also integrate ICT in daily courses to provide our students the skills they need to succeed in the modern world.
Our Flight House provides improved amenities for the entire neighbourhood surrounding St. Mary's school.
The location of both our "Wake Up Shake Up Breakfast Club" and our expanding after-school programme, which now includes a range of sporting activities and which we hope to expand to provide wraparound care in the coming months, is also there.
We are a little school with a large heart, and whenever we can, we open our doors to community and commercial use. The Flight House is also available for public use.
Our teachers are devoted and skilled, bringing knowledge to St Mary's from a wide range of schools in Oxfordshire, London, the rest of the UK, and internationally.
We are well serviced by our Trust, the Oxfordshire Diocesan Education Board, the clergy, and the congregation of St. Mary's church, in addition to our enthusiastic Local Governing Board, which enthusiastically supports and advances the strategic direction of the school.
We actively participate in SCIB (Safeguarding Children In Banbury), interschool sporting and academic competitions, and the Banbury Partnership of Schools. We also work to build strong relationships with our secondary schools.
St. Mary's also collaborates closely with Cherwell District Council on their "Brighter Futures in Banbury" initiative, which supports and directs positive results for all Banbury-area families.
We would love to share our vision and passion for learning with you. Anyone interested in becoming a part of our school community is invited to get in touch with us to set up a visit so you can meet me, the teachers, support staff, and most importantly, the students, who I'm sure will be able to describe how much fun learning at St Mary's is much better than I can!
I hope you like exploring our website, and I can't wait to meet you at school.
