Being the headteacher of St. Giles Church of England (A) Infant School, which has served Ashtead and the neighbourhood since 1852, is a pleasure. As a small school, we are uniquely placed to be able to meet the needs of every one of our children; as Headteacher, I am able to know every child in the school and how they are progressing, their strengths and areas for development and how they learn best. Each child learns and develops at a different rate, and at St. Giles', every member of staff who works with your child is aware of this. The school received a "excellent" rating from our OFSTED inspection in January 2016. It was acknowledged that students at St. Giles' have unusually high levels of achievement in reading, writing, and math and finish Year 2 on average one full school year ahead of students in the rest of the nation. Our creative curriculum piques students' interests, and they are genuinely enthusiastic about what they are learning. Children behave perfectly, and they have the best possible relationships with their teachers. To ensure that the work is rigorous and exactly tailored to students' various requirements, we thoroughly examine each child's growth and knowledge from an individual perspective. Everything the school conducts is centred on the personal development of its students, and the outstanding assistance provided by parents and carers is extremely helpful in this regard. Children are given every opportunity to learn, grow, and face new challenges at St. Giles', a joyful, compassionate, inclusive, and nurturing school. To witness how content our students are and how effectively they learn, I encourage you to schedule a tour of the school with me.
