From the Parkside House School
For students who struggle to interact with others or with education in a mainstream setting, Parkside House School seeks to offer a high quality education package. We provide a broad range of educational services in a small-school environment, concentrating on the needs of each individual student. These needs frequently include the improvement of basic cognitive abilities as well as improved self-esteem and thinking abilities. Students should have the chance to learn in a setting that is caring and safe. We will treat young people with respect and trust in the hopes that this will encourage a positive reaction. We firmly believe that our students' needs come first, and in order to meet those requirements, we will collaborate with stakeholders such as families, educators, and other professionals. We recognise that school may conjure up unfavourable images for certain students. Each student will receive individualised attention as we seek to change their negative self- and authority-perceptions. We will commit to provide a broad-based curriculum that leads to nationally recognised credentials as well as learning that challenges and delights, building on real-world experience that frequently extends beyond the classroom. Regardless of their colour, culture, or background, we think all students should have the chance to develop into valuable members of society.
