From the Ongar Place Primary School
Our school, which was erected in 1964–1965 on the grounds and home of "Ongar Hill House," welcomed its first students in 1969. The old mansion was a part of a large estate with 40 acres of farmland. The beautiful grounds surrounding our school contain a heated swimming pool. Our surroundings enhance our learning environment and give our kids chances. Originally an infant school, Ongar Place School is now a reputable primary school. In July 2012, we sent our first class of Year Six students off to secondary school after giving them a wide range of possibilities at Ongar Place to get them ready for their future academic endeavours. At Ongar Place we are continuously reviewing our curriculum and approach in order that we can offer our children a learning experience that builds on their skills and knowledge, prepares them for the opportunities and challenges of life in our fast changing society.
