From the Longford Park Primary School
A one-form entry elementary school, Longford Park Primary, was rebuilt in 1998. On this location, there has been a school for almost a century. The old buildings were moved to the centre of the property, and a playing field was put in their place. Our nursery classroom, Community Lounge, and ICT suite are currently located in a portion of the original Victorian building. Aspects of the campus have continued to be developed since the renovation in 1998 to expand our teaching and learning spaces. All of Key Stage One can use the wooden play trail that has been built in the nursery garden. For the sake of the kids and employees, we built our round home next door on a piece of vacant land and established a peaceful space. A second ICT teaching room has been made available in the community lounge. In November 2010, we commemorated our 100th birthday with three days of historical activities that culminated in a staff-performed play and assembly for the entire school. Additionally, we buried a time capsule that will be uncovered in 25 years.
