We think and act in ways that are determined by our values at Kingstone and Thruxton Primary, a values-based school.
A values-based education fosters a supportive environment for teaching and learning by respecting ourselves, one another, and the environment while taking into account fundamental ethical principles that govern behaviour.
Our School Values provide a secure sense of self, respect for others, and serve as the foundation for rising academic standards, all of which assist the development of the whole child.
The 12 basic Values that serve as the cornerstone of our school's ethos are addressed directly in classrooms, assemblies, and throughout the whole curriculum.
Over a two-year cycle, we concentrate on a specific Value each month.
By the way we act, how we view one another, and how we learn, we come to understand what the Values are and how we might demonstrate them.
Being a "Values Based School" has, in our opinion, been a huge success.
Parents, teachers, and people outside of the school have seen that since the programme began, students' behaviour, attitudes, and comprehension have improved.
We operate on a two-year rolling programme with 12 values that change each month.
