From the King Alfred's
I'd like to extend a warm welcome to you on behalf of the entire King Alfred's Academy community.
King Alfred's is a learning community with an enthusiastic, gifted, and committed staff, new and renovated classrooms for 21st-century learning, the provision of an outstanding sixth form that is ranked among the best in the country, and a wealth of extracurricular trips, visits, and activities for students to enjoy as part of their broader learning outside the classroom.
Additionally, King Alfred's has a well-deserved reputation for offering exceptional pastoral care of a wide range and quality to all students through a skilled and committed team of pastoral staff and student supervisors.
Inspectors at the most recent Ofsted inspection correctly recognised King Alfred's strength when they stated that "Pupils' welfare and safety is the highest priority."
Most importantly, West Site now provides a bright, welcoming campus where students can transition safely and pleasantly into secondary education as they move from Year 6 to secondary education.
The governors and employees of King Alfred's Academy exhibit an exemplary attitude and a strong desire to see the institution grow and flourish so that it becomes the premier school of choice for the neighbourhood and beyond.
It is very exciting to work in a school where all staff members share a revitalised and determined sense of purpose and commitment with regard to "Achieving Excellence Together." The recent Ofsted report has allowed us to shape a strong plan for speedy progress.
This is supported by three main objectives: The Academy will work in partnership with parents and carers to support each individual student to achieve more than they ever imagined possible. All teaching staff will learn from one another to ensure that the very best teaching in the Academy becomes the standard. All students will be expected to display the highest standards of learning behaviour in order to allow teachers to teach and all students to learn.
We cordially encourage you to stop by our institution and see firsthand everything we have to offer.
With this invitation in mind, I am very much looking forward to personally welcoming you to King Alfred's.

Shambles of a school. Seems they like to give out demerits detentions like there giving them out for fun. so many unhappy parents and children. So many other bad reviews on other sites. This school really needs to be looked at. Cleaners shouting at children in there face first is a safe guarding issue. Cleaners have no rights to be talking or screaming abuse at children. Teachers are shocking. Talking about they don't get paid...
Serious Concerns About SEN Support and Safeguarding I am very disappointed with the lack of support and care provided at King Alfred’s School, particularly for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). There are serious concerns about how students with additional needs are treated, with punitive measures often prioritised over understanding and appropriate interventions. The school also appears to have safeguarding issues, with incidents where students’ safety and wellbeing were not adequately ensured. Communication with parents...
