From the Jotmans Hall Primary School
Jotmans Hall Primary School first opened its doors in January 1973. In 1997, we changed our status to Grant Maintained, and in 2011, we became an academy. We work closely with our partner schools as part of the Benfleet and Thundersley Inter-schools Cluster and have been involved in training new teachers through the Benfleet Teaching Schools Alliance. The School has access to ample resources, and the facility is still being kept in excellent condition. The main building comprises seven class bases, hall, kitchen, staffroom, offices, resources room, a library, an Early Years play area and a special needs room. Four more classrooms may be found in the Upper School block, which is connected to the Main Building. The grounds include a playing field, football pitch, netball court, various hard play areas, swimming pool, interactive garden, and a natural conservation area. We also offer a tyre park, a climbing wall, and an adventure track. In addition a community pre-school, "Tree Tots", operates from our grounds and we run our own Woodland Club which offers before-school, after-school and holiday care for our families. We provide our employees childcare vouchers that they can use to pay for any childcare facility that has received a "Ofsted" rating. From our school house, this is managed. We had a very successful Ofsted inspection in June 2013, and we were thrilled to receive a "Good" rating. We are currently exerting a lot of effort to achieve "Outstanding" level. Our staff work very closely as a team, both teaching and Associate staff and we provide a supportive, nurturing environment for all our pupils where every child matters.
