At the centre of the Beacon Multi Academy Trust is Beal High School. To ensure that all students receive top-notch educational opportunities, we are dedicated to collaborating with The Forest Academy, The Beacon Business and Innovation Hub, NELTA North East London Teaching Alliance, and SCITT (School Centered Initial Teacher Training). For students in grades 11 through 18, Beal is a mixed, community comprehensive school (including a small number of 19 year olds in Year 13). With over 2,600 (as of September 2018) students enrolled, including over 800 in the Sixth Form, we are the largest secondary school in England. At admission, students are separated into 12 groups. The vast majority of our pupils come from the catchment area, and we are proud that our intake reflects the ethnic diversity of our local community. The Beacon Communication School, which serves adolescents with a variety of social communication challenges, including as autism and Asperger's syndrome, is listed on the Beal roll. This offers a post-16 provision and is significantly oversubscribed. Throughout the week, many of the kids participate in academic and social activities with the larger school community. We scored in the top 20% of non-selective schools for attainment and progress on the Key Stage 4 examinations in 2018. Beal Sixth Form students achieve exceptional results and make rapid progress, ranking us in the top 25% of schools. With 90% of pupils continuing on to a university and 30% of these accepting admission to Russell Group institutions, progress after the sixth form is impressive. Our A level and BTEC scores received an exceptional for progress rating from ALPS in the summer of 2018. In Redbridge 2018, Beal Sixth Form shared the top spot for Post 16 advancement.
