The basic British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and respect for people of all religions and beliefs must be promoted in all schools, according to the DFE, which recently reaffirmed the necessity of doing so. The behaviour expectations at our school include rewards that are chosen by a class vote. Students are taught about the significance of laws, their rationale, how they govern and protect us, the responsibilities attached to this, and the penalties for disobeying the law. Students are actively encouraged to make decisions because they know they are in school in a safe and supportive environment. Through our e-Safety and PSHE lectures, for example, we encourage students to recognise, appreciate, and exercise their rights and personal freedoms while also providing advice on how to do so safely. The 5 RsResponsive, Resourceful, Reasoning, Resilient, and Reflectivehave been central to our school's ethos and behaviour policy, and students have participated in conversations and assemblies about what this means and how it is demonstrated. Through our behaviour policy, classroom and learning rules, and signs posted around the school, we emphasise respect for others. Learning in RE and PSHE has fostered gatherings and discussions around bullying fueled by prejudice. People of all faiths are urged to share their knowledge in order to enhance instruction in classes and throughout the institution.
