Our goal at All Souls is to make history engaging and pertinent for the students we educate. We give kids the ability to scrutinise sources and seek out the most correct information possible through the history curriculum. Through inquiry, study, and more in-depth thought, we hope to empower kids to develop their own understanding of the historical and contemporary world around them. Students should become aware of the past by describing the passage of time with words and expressions they can understand. They should be able to compare and contrast historical periods, as well as place the individuals and events they study into a chronological context. They should pose questions and respond, highlighting significant passages from tales or other sources to demonstrate their comprehension of the events. Students should be aware of some of the sources we use to learn about the past and how it is portrayed. Students should continue to build a solid chronological understanding of British, local, and global history while constructing coherent narratives both inside and among the time periods they study. They should acquire the appropriate use of historical words and take note of relationships, contrasts, and trends over time. They must to frequently discuss and occasionally come up with historically sound queries regarding significance, similarity and difference, causation, and change. They should create well-informed solutions that incorporate careful selection and arrangement of pertinent historical data. They ought to comprehend how a variety of sources are used to create our expertise of the past.
