Wymondham College, graded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, renowned for its exceptional student achievements, is the largest state boarding and day school in the UK, with exam results amongst the highest in the country.
Graded Outstanding in all 9 categories across its education and boarding provision, believed to be a first in the country under the new inspection framework.
Ambition is high at the College with a traditional GCSE and A-Level curriculum that extends to encompass subjects including Politics, Computer Science, Photography, Drama and Music. Students typically go on to study at Cambridge, Oxford and Russell group universities as well as prestigious degree level apprenticeships.
Wymondham College’s 83-acre estate is nestled in Norfolk amongst stunning countryside, providing an expansive place for children to live, learn and grow and is in easy reach of direct road and rail links.
Students' education is enhanced with a range of enrichment activities, with over 70 activities a week, including paddle boarding, kayaking, horse riding, water polo, debating, coding and so much more. The College competes against independent schools in sporting fixtures, including boys’ and girls’ rugby, football, cricket, hockey, netball, athletics, swimming and tennis with many victories and an impressive trophy cabinet. Students enjoy trips to New York, Disneyland, Iceland, skiing in Austria, safaris in Kenya as well as learning to scuba dive in the onsite pool, going onto achieve their open water qualification in Malta.
Boarding is a home from home, with younger children sharing rooms, to the independence of en-suite single dorms in the Sixth Form. Wymondham College has seven boarding houses, including a Prep boarding house, each with specialist residential staff. There is a bespoke Sixth Form boarding house akin to a small university campus. The mix of children and residential staff creates a family environment whereby older children help the younger children with prep.
The rhythms of a child’s day support a well-rounded healthy lifestyle in an open, safe environment. From prep time to enjoying activities, supper with their house family, to making friends from around the world – there are benefits to boarding that cannot be gained elsewhere, from just £5000 per term.
To experience the wonderfully unique offer available to your child, families are warmly invited to enjoy a personalised visit to the College or attend an open event.

boarding life on weekends is epoc its really fun and mr summers and his family are reallt nice food could be alot better
Awful place to work. There is no boundaries for students, particularly in boarding with having children and partners of boarding staff on site. Boarding staff would add pupils on social media such as Snapchat and safeguarding procedures weren't followed. When I worked here there was no behaviour policy nor support for staff. Staff were “let go” before they were told to leave due to safeguarding concerns and nothing reported “officially” so as not to make...
My daughter attended here. The school was appalling. Little to no support from teachers, slurs were written by students directed to others. Teachers did nothing. VI sister the school and saw younger students vaping. My daughter left this school, after being bullied. Utterly disgraceful.
