From the Woodbridge Primary School
We strive to foster and develop children's innate drive and capacity for learning because they are naturally curious and endlessly creative. We give our kids organised assignments that are meant to advance their learning, and we also encourage them to explore and find whatever challenges they come across on their own. In a setting where making mistakes is both safe and acceptable, our kids are encouraged to "have a go" and take risks. Our kids actively participate in their educational development and are constantly involved in determining what their next learning step should be. Our children are taught to make their own decisions and to accept responsibility for those decisions in line with our adherence to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Our kids are given the chance to speak up, express themselves, and think for themselves. They are also taught the value of listening. Different year groups are placed together to learn from and about each other, and our kids are always encouraged to lend a hand to one another in learning activities and social situations. Both inside and outside of the classroom, our kids have access to holistic learning experiences that put them in "real-life" scenarios with useful tasks. We acknowledge that questions are just as vital as answers and that "hands-on" experiences help to embed theoretical learning.
