Thank you for visiting Wood End Infant & Pre-School.
In the six years that I have been here, I have witnessed our school grow and am quite proud of it.
As stated in our motto, "Nurturing acorns into sturdy oaks," Wood End is a small, nurturing school. We make every effort to nurture your children so they are prepared for the next level of their education.
Our school is unique in many ways; for the past four years, it has regularly outperformed the national average in terms of helping children develop to a Good Level of Development in our Foundation Stage class.
For the past four years, our phonics screening check results at the end of Year 1 have exceeded the National Average; in 2017, we ranked in the top 6% of schools nationwide.
We receive the Ruth Miskin Training Accreditation badge every year to recognise our excellence in teaching kids to read, write, and spell with zeal and consistency.
We are extremely pleased of the progress all of the kids at Wood End make, and the standards our kids achieve at the end of Key Stage One are higher than the national average.
Of course, our school is more than just academic achievement; we take great satisfaction in the fascinating activities that children get to enjoy while attending Wood End.
All kids participate in weekly Forest School sessions where they get to play outside, discover the seasons and wildlife, take chances, and learn key life skills including collaboration.
Sports and the arts are key components of our curriculum because we appreciate them.
