Wiveliscombe Primary School serves the small rural town of Wiveliscombe, which is approximately 11 miles west of Taunton, the county town, and is close to the Devon/Somerset border. The school is housed in several more contemporary buildings in addition to its older Victorian structures. It has the designation of a listed building and offers a very appealing work environment. Wiveliscombe Primary School educates students from ages 0 to 11. (including the provision at the Paddocks Nursery and Pre-School which is managed by the School on a nearby site). The school's planned admission number (the number of places available in each year group) is 34, and the governors have agreed to cap class sizes at 36. The governing body and PTFA both give the school strong support. There is a sizable playing field, an outdoor classroom, and an adventure playground on the school grounds. The kids can use our reflection garden, which is another peaceful area, during recess. Every instructor is dedicated to incorporating the outdoors into their lesson plans. There are 201 kids listed on the roster right now. They are divided into seven classes. One or more skilled teaching assistants and the part-time special needs coordinator provide assistance to each class (SENCO). The majority of the students at the school either live in Wiveliscombe or take a bus into town from one of the nearby communities. In a helpful, amiable, and energetic environment, all employees get along well. They approach their task with great professionalism, dedication, and commitment. Great importance is attached to continuing professional development and all staff are encouraged to partake in suitable training opportunities. The children are well behaved, well motivated and very eager to learn.
