All of us at The William Amory Nursery and School work hard to uphold the school's longstanding reputation as a warm, inviting environment with a strong sense of family.
A setting where both kids and parents are made to feel like family and where our kids can learn and experience the world in a loving, interesting way.
Towards providing the kids the confidence to face their fears and the courage to challenge themselves.
Together, we are building a nursery and school where kids may thrive and where parents, staff, governors, and parents are pleased to be a part of.
The school offers a wide range of extracurricular activities, including: cookery, painting, netball, football, athletics, cricket, badminton, rounders, table tennis, and multi-skills, all of which are thought to play a significant role in the life of the school.
The ethos of The William Amory Primary School is based on the home/school partnership, where parents are actively encouraged to become involved within the school to work with staff and students, strengthening the team spirit and the home/school relationship, in addition to a thriving Parent, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA).
We accept students in our school from the ages of 4 to 11, and in our nursery starting at 3.
Classes had been suspended at this point because the schoolhouse was in disrepair.
Before the school could be renovated and then reopened, it took two to three years.
The schoolhouse was abandoned by 1876, and using money from the charity, a new school for boys was constructed in 1878.
William Amory, who must have possessed social consciousness, established a free school in Blythe Bridge in 1728.
The police station and library have been moved into the location where the school once stood.
It appears that Mr. Amory's Grammar School was closed and a new school was constructed in the early 1850s.
Another result of the population growth was the need for extra school spaces, so in 1878, The Marsh School was erected close to the church along Uttoxeter Road using monies from Mr. Amory's foundation.
The Marsh Primary's own Junior School on Stallington Lane was added in 1971.
The Marsh Primary School and Draycott Manor Primary School were combined to become The William Amory Primary School, which was launched in September 2006.
On March 28, 2007, Cllr. Robert Simpson, Councillor Elect for Children and Lifelong Learning, gave the school its formal opening speech.
On August 1st, 2017, The William Amory Nursery was established.
