From the The Westwood Academy
We are honoured that you think highly of The Westwood Academy as a potential secondary school for your child.
Because I have complete faith in the teaching this school provides, I joined the Academy more than 5 years ago, and I was selected to the position of head of school in 2019.
Our goal is to give every kid the chance to pursue their love of learning and to give them experiences outside of the classroom that will enable them to find their place in the world.
An outstanding group of support staff members who are actively involved in your child's educational journey provide them with more than adequate support.
Our work is still held in high regard by the Department for Education, Ofsted, our local authority's education team, and schools that come to learn more about what we do.
You are probably aware that we have once again received the distinctions of "impeccable" (Coventry Local Authority, 2015), "Good with numerous excellent aspects," and "outstanding for ICT" from Ofsted (October 2017).
We have strong working links with the University of Warwick because of our location, which is advantageous for all of our kids.
Many parents are also aware that the DfE decided to create a Multi Academy Trust in July 2018 with the exceptional Kenilworth School as the lead. This partnership was formally entered into in January 2019 and we have been working closely with Kenilworth since then. These relationships are only strengthening.
A special bond between your child, our school, and you as parents is essential to our success, I should add.
Only if we get this right will we be able to have a truly successful education.
I'm eager to get to know you and collaborate with you in the future.
