We cherish each student's and family's unique backgrounds at Weston St. Mary Church of England Primary School, and we hold a range of activities and lessons to honour them. Since it promotes tolerance and respect for the diversity within our community and around the world, we have discovered that this approach is enriching for everyone. A variety of curriculum topics with significant ties to the British Empire serve as the foundation for everything mentioned above. Additionally, we examine democracy, law and order, and how we live in an inclusive community through PSHE and SEAL activities. We have a monthly school value that, among other things, emphasises tolerance, respect, honesty, and innovation. The school generally does daily group worships that promote traditional principles of empathy, respect, and tolerance. These are also covered informally throughout the school day and in formal SEAL, PSHE, and RE sessions. Every month, we focus on a different value, and past topics have included friendship, courage, honesty, love, respect, determination, tolerance, and creativity. For each value, we send a newsletter home so that kids may participate in activities with their parents and other adults and really understand how it applies to modern life. Children work in class to increase their comprehension of the value during the month as it is exhibited and discussed. In order to determine the values we study, we asked our parents and other primary carers which ones we should learn about. In addition to others, the kids have raised money for Children in Need, the Poppy Appeal, and Save the Children. This encourages us to consider how we might support and assist others. Children can learn about competition and enjoying accomplishment through our competitive sports programmes.
