From the Welton Church of England Academy
In the fall of 2012, Welton CE Academy in Northamptonshire, close to Daventry, formally merged with the David Ross Education Trust.
The Governing Body initially considered converting to academy status because they wanted to "provide even more chances to our kids, better rewards for our staff, and more possibility to strengthen the school's future." OFSTED rated the school as "excellent."
In both Key Stages 1 and 2, the school has routinely produced genuinely remarkable SATs results.
However, the school firmly believes that primary education, in particular, is about much more than merely achieving academic success.
The "social and emotional components of learning" are emphasised, and extracurricular accomplishments are supported by a House system and praised.
Students at Welton place a strong emphasis on music, theatre, and sports, and they have achieved great success in each of these areas.

Every student at our school has the chance to learn and develop in a setting that is secure, joyful, healthy, and fulfilling.
We have the highest standards for everyone and concentrate on the unique learning needs of each kid.
We put a lot of emphasis on learning's social and emotional components.
We think that education is more like starting a fire than filling a bucket!
