When I began my teaching career, I wanted to be the sort of teacher that I would like to have had as a child. We aspire to help every child develop as a whole person to enable them to become confident, happy, independent, creative and adaptable; to love learning and achieve more than they thought possible. Our experienced and well-established teaching team have high expectations and ambitions for all our pupils and we never stop seeking new ways to promote learning and develop improvements to the curriculum and the school. We firmly believe that knowing every child as an individual is vital to their success; that everybody should feel safe; and that every child has individual strengths which should be recognised and celebrated.
We are very fortunate to have many parents/carers, as well as members of the community, who regularly help in school supporting a wide range of activities. Weeke Primary School Association are an active set of parent fundraisers aiming to help finance many resources and opportunities for the children, through a variety of popular events. We also have a supportive group of governors who are highly skilled in different areas and work in partnership with staff to provide our children with the very best learning opportunities.
We believe pupils’ learning is optimised when staff and parents/carers work together. We value this partnership which, coupled with quality education and high expectations at all times, will undoubtedly help children achieve their very best, lead to great achievements, promote good citizenship and provide a good foundation for pupils’ secondary education.
When visiting our school, you will notice the strong sense of: purpose, collaboration and passion as we aspire to provide ‘irresistible learning at the heart of the community’. You are very welcome to visit the school to see us at work and play. Please contact the school office to arrange a visit or to find out more information.
