From the Victoria Road Primary School
At Victoria Road, inclusion is at the core of everything we do.
At Victoria Road Primary School, we are really proud of the dedication of every member of the staff to ensuring that the kids in our care receive a top-notch education.
The DfE has emphasised the necessity of "creating and enforcing a clear and rigorous requirement on all schools to teach the basic British principles of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of individuals with various faiths and views."
Through assemblies, lessons, and our School Council, children will frequently be asked for their opinions.
Children understand the importance of the rules and the consequences of breaking them because they participate in making them.
Students are instructed on the importance of laws, their justifications, how they regulate and safeguard us, the duties associated with this, and the repercussions of breaking the law.
With the knowledge that they are in a secure and encouraging atmosphere at school, students are actively encouraged to make decisions.
Students are encouraged to be aware of, comprehend, and exercise their rights and liberties, and they are given guidance on how to do so safely, for instance through our E-Safety and PSHE lectures.
We provide a wide variety of extracurricular groups, and our school curriculum gives students the option to choose what they want to study.
Core Values like "Respect" have been a focal point of our school's ethos and behaviour policy, and students have participated in conversations and assemblies about what this means and how it is demonstrated.
Through our classroom and Good to be Green standards, as well as our behaviour policy, the school reinforces positive behaviours and fosters respect for others.
This is accomplished through giving students opportunities to experience cultural variety and by helping them better comprehend their place in a diverse society.
Learning in RE and PSHE has been implemented in order to assist and follow up on assemblies and discussions about prejudices and bullying that is motivated by prejudice.
To improve instruction in classes and throughout the school, people of all faiths are urged to share their knowledge.
