We as a school selected the ideals we felt were crucial to both our personal development and academic success. Finally, the school community chose the aforementioned five ideals. These principles are now present in every facet of school life. Our aim is that if our 'Core Values' are entrenched in everything that we do, that Uplands children will leave the school academically able, resilient, and have the learning skills necessary to be successful in their next stage of education. According to our government, all UK citizens should appreciate and support the core values and principles upon which British society is built. The obligations, benefits, and rights that come with being a British citizen or a permanent resident of the UK are expressed in these values. They are supported by legislation, norms, and expectations and are based on history and traditions. Extremism and intolerance have no place in British society. The various families at Uplands Manor serve as a representation of the principles we uphold, which are not exclusive to Britain but are held by many people around the globe. We support the values of democracy, rules of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs and these are embedded within our curriculum.
