Alex Burnham, who has 21 years of experience working in education, joined UTC Leeds in September 2018. Alex was a member of the senior leadership group at Rodillian Multi Academy Trust prior to joining UTC Leeds. This included serving as the school's headmaster at Kirklees' BBG Academy. Under his direction, the academy went from being in special measures to receiving a "good" assessment from Ofsted. "I am honoured to serve as the UTC Leeds' newly appointed Principal. Being selected to continue leading the college ahead makes me feel really honoured and fortunate. I'm thrilled to have the chance to work with a group that helps our students develop into the next wave of top-tier scientists and engineers. We are dedicated to turning the institution into an intellectual and technological learning hub because I am passionate about it. I concur with the governors' goal of establishing a centre of excellence for Leeds' youth and those in the neighbourhood. By collaborating closely with neighbourhood businesses and Leeds University, we hope to satisfy the region of Yorkshire's pressing need for qualified engineers while also enhancing the prospects of our students. By giving them the abilities to enrol in college classes, pursue degree chances, and complete fruitful apprenticeships with nearby businesses, we want to accomplish this. The governors have made sure that the UTC Leeds has the best resources, tools, and technology available through their collaboration with the Baker Dearing Education Trust. Young individuals with ambition will be inspired, equipped, and ready for future professions in their field of choice. enabling them to acquire the latest, up-to-date skills now required and putting them in the position to study those that have not yet been created. We appreciate your ongoing interest in and support of UTC Leeds ".
