On Friday, November 4, GEMS Twickenham Primary School celebrated its formal ribbon-cutting ceremony. Richmond Mayor David Linnette, Twickenham MP Tania Mathias, and South Twickenham Councillor Clare Head were also present for the ceremony. Cllr Clare Head said: "Like many of you here this is a very joyful and happy occasion; perhaps one that we didn't think would happen quite so quickly.". "I am thrilled to see so many of you here, and I know the school is going to become stronger," she continued. Twickenham MP Tania Mathias said: "This borough has always had some of the best primary schools and so it is very heartening to see this new school showing excellence already. " The staff's and the head's attitude has most impressed me. I am also very impressed with the links already established with local councillors and local residents, which is vital in our community. " I am eager to return when there are 400 students enrolled in this institution. The kids have been wonderful, and each one of them has shook my hand. They are polite and represent their school properly. I'm eager to see the academic and pastoral outcomes. The goal of the school is to develop decent individuals, not only educate students.
