From the Truro High School
Our motto nicely complements the School's primary objectives and guiding values. Luce magistra literally translates to "with the light as my instructor."
to offer each girl a customised, joyful, all-around education that enables her to realise her personal and professional goals.
In order to achieve these goals, the school will combine modern innovation and consultation; promote a partnership between the school and parents; develop the professional skills of its staff; invest in top-notch facilities; continue its close ties to the neighbourhood; and do everything in our power to be the best school in Cornwall.
The Bishop of Truro established Truro High School as a Church of England institution in 1880, and we now place a high value on Anglican principles and ethics.
We do, however, welcome students of all religions and none to our environment.
The Methodist Church participates in education as a component of its global Christian mission.
Its educational institutions will work to increase diversity in the classroom and to further the Methodist ethos and character.
To encourage students in a critical examination of the standards and values currently prevalent in society and to discover and develop a personal faith to lead them throughout their lives. To worship as Christians in the Methodist tradition. To uphold Christian values in practise as well as in theory. To make religious education a strong feature of the curriculum.
The Truro High School Senior Leadership Team and the Governors spent a lot of time in 2015 assessing our present course and creating goals that will help us realise this vision.
To provide top-notch instruction and a girls-only education of the highest calibre so that our students can succeed academically and be ready for life beyond school in an environment that is becoming more and more complex.
To uphold and grow supportive, amiable, and open connections with all members of the school community, including students, parents, staff, old girls, and governors, as well as to have a prominent presence in the neighbourhood and beyond.
