We are a high-achieving, selective grammar school with academy status that educates both boys and girls in the sixth form as well as females between the ages of 11 and 16. We combine the best of a conventional curriculum with the tenets and character of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Organization as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. This gives our children the chance to learn in both depth and breadth, which will help them grow into well-rounded people. They are inspired to be passionate about changing the world and become engaged learners. Students are prepared by the school for the International Baccalaureate Diploma and GCSE exams. Our students participate in a wide variety of extracurricular activities in addition to a full schedule of academic activities. The school, which is located on 14 acres in Deakin Leas, Tonbridge, first opened its doors in 1905. We have many resources and cutting-edge facilities. Modern classrooms, a drama and dance studio, and a sports hall are available in the 2009-opened Hands Building. Several of our science labs underwent renovations after the Wolfson Foundation granted us a grant in 2012. A specialised sixth form study centre called The IBarn debuted in September 2015. The school gives children the chance to participate in activities that promote intercultural respect and understanding. These include of taking part in math competitions in the UK and Europe as well as study tours to foreign countries like Malawi and Iceland. Our mission is to educate capable kids and prepare them for life in a setting that values respect for all students and staff as well as each person entrusted to the care of the school. The Tonbridge Grammar School staff and governors take seriously their duty to protect and advance the wellbeing of all the children and adolescents entrusted to their care.
