Our goal for Thorney Island School is for students to graduate with high standards that have been attained through the school's unique curriculum, students' ongoing exposure to engaging learning opportunities, and their feeling of purpose and relevance.
We have a learning culture where everyone, including adults and children, is held to high but reasonable standards.
We think it's important for kids to actively participate in their education rather than just be passive recipients of knowledge.
We have strong opinions regarding children's education and believe that many aspects of the educational process are indisputable.
a school culture that offers all students safety, love, and security because we don't think kids can learn as much as they can without those things.
All students have opportunities for success, independence, a healthy sense of self-worth, and confidence thanks to the variety and richness of experiences available both inside and outside the classroom.
A primary education that leaves a lasting, positive impression on kids, one they will cherish for its fun, delight, and excitement, as well as the relationships and experiences that helped foster a genuine love of learning and a sense of pride in one's accomplishments;
the chance for every kid, regardless of their circumstances, to realise their greatest potential by giving them the building blocks for future learning and life achievement;
While successfully responding to the accountability and expectations in respect to standards, we have the bravery, passion, and conviction to uphold what we consider to be right and to maintain those qualities in the education delivered to the students.
We think the students at Thorney Island School should receive nothing less.
