In the grounds of St. Vigor and St. John Church School in Chilcompton, Somerset, is where you'll find The Mill Nursery. The St. Vigor and St. John Church School Governing Board is in charge of providing childcare services. The Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher, Childcare Manager, and Chair of Governors make up the senior leadership team. 2009 saw the opening of The Mill Nursery and The Mill Children's Center. The nursery is open from 8 a.m. to 17 p.m. five days per week, all 365 days of the year. The purpose-built structure, which includes family support rooms and a nursery facility housed in a single-story structure, is completely accessible. The Mill Nursery provides 34 spaces that provide full-day care as well as sessional care for kids ages 0 to 7. Some children take up their free entitlement at age two, and some at three, and the nursery also has fee paying parents and places funded by external agencies, such as colleges and children's services. The nursery consists of three rooms 'Barley' the baby room for under 2's offering 6 places, a sleep room and 'Granary' main room for children aged 2 5 years of age which offers 28 places. For kids aged 4 to 7, the nursery also provides before, after, and during school breaks care. Each room features a private bathroom and diaper-changing station. Children get access to an enclosed outdoor play area and garden where they may get a taste of the open space. Raised planting boxes, a sand pit, a water run, and other attractions can be found outside. Children have the chance to experience things outside of the typical nursery environment thanks to programmes like Forest School. The nursery can also use a lot of the facilities of the school.
