St. Mary's has a long history in the Essex village of Stansted Mountfitchet. Since our founding in 1835, St. Mary's has resided in four different locations. In November 2012, we moved into a stunning new structure. St. Mary's is a successful school with a strong sense of community. In order to effectively put our guiding principles into practise, we understand how important it is for children, families, staff, governors, St. John's Church, and the larger community to work together. The core values of St. Mary's School are founded on respect, care, and regard for others. In every activity we engage in at school, we promote our ideals. Adults should set a good example for their children, and they should live by our school's motto, "Learning Together, We Care, Share, and Prepare." Our curriculum and pastoral care are designed to help each student's development in every way. As a school community, we work hard to foster learning that is successful, relationships that are encouraging, creativity, and future readiness in a setting where everyone counts.
