St. Joseph's is a small, semi-rural Roman Catholic primary school perched above Darwen, an East Lancashire mill town, in lovely moorland surroundings. We firmly believe that St. Joseph's is a unique, inspiring, and exciting setting where kids, parents, teachers, administrators, governors, and members of our community collaborate to give kids the chance to realise their potential, discover and cultivate their unique gifts, and mature alongside others as God's children. Our foundation stage fosters the wonder and curiosity of our students by involving them in a dynamic and imaginative curriculum. Your children will learn in a secure, loving atmosphere where they will receive solid foundations that will help them become thoughtful and autonomous learners. We continue to offer a rich, creative, and engaging curriculum for students in Key Stages 1 and 2 both within and outside the classroom. All of our kids have unique abilities and talents, and we support them by challenging them along the road and celebrating their accomplishments. We provide a wide range of options for our students, including breakfast club, sports, music, arts & crafts, gardening, and cooking. The students also have access to our own hen coop and can participate in our active school council and parent council. We encourage the participation of our students and the entire community in the life and ongoing development of our school. We serve as a feeder school for St. Bede's High School in Blackburn, the closest Roman Catholic high school. We are pleased with the transition our kids make into high school after they leave us and have wonderful relationships with St. Bedes.
