Welcoming you and your kid to St. Filumena's Catholic Primary School, a division of Painsley Catholic Academy, gives me great joy.
One of the most crucial decisions you will ever make is the school where your child will attend.
We would be honoured to share with you a brief but significant period of your child's life and spiritual journey if you trusted us with caring for them.
Every single person in our community is inspired daily to answer the call to be the best that we can be in every area of our faith, life, and education at St. Filumena's, a beautiful school.
High expectations for good behaviour are essential if we want our kids to grow up to be happy, safe, and confident adults who can work both alone and with others to support their academic learning and prepare them for life in Britain and the rest of the world.
Through the school council, children are actively encouraged to engage completely in school life.
Pastoral care is strongly emphasised, and all staff members are fully devoted to advancing the wellbeing of every kid.
We take pride in the curriculum we provide for our students, and we constantly work to improve the teaching and learning opportunities for all of our students. Current development projects include collaborating with national and senior leaders to improve a mastery approach to mathematics and collaborating with specialist consultants to further develop creative approaches to reading and writing experiences.
Children's learning is reinforced by a wide range of extracurricular activities, musical opportunities, sporting opportunities, and after-school groups, available for students in all key stages, through a comprehensive and creative curriculum.
Our children have access to high-quality teaching and learning while being able to participate and perform in instrumental instruction, competitive team sports, drama, and performing arts. We also have links with subject specialists for Science, Computing, Music, and Modern Foreign Languages (Spanish).
St. Filumena's has enlisted a number of highly reputable school leaders, including National Leaders of Education, who work closely with staff to ensure the highest quality of growth with relation to teaching and learning standards as part of the Painsley Teaching School Alliance and Maths Hub.
We continue to hold a high appreciation for the chance to mould and educate the upcoming generation of teachers and school leaders through our collaboration with Keele University for Student Placement and facilitating for the Painsley Teaching School.
We continue to place a premium on the significance of encouraging a strong home-school collaboration through regular contact and communication with parents.
Additionally, family learning workshops are often offered so that parents and kids can participate in activities and learn together. This helps parents and carers support kids' learning at home. Our school's motto is "I Am Loved," and students are taught from an early age that they are God's wonderful and unique creations who are meant to be loved as well as to love and serve others.
Strong partnerships further contribute to our students' personal and spiritual development.
Charitable outreach, service to others and examinations of our call to vocation are all explored with the support of the wider community.
Whilst I hope you find this brief introduction useful, there can be no substitute for a personal visit and you are warmly invited to have a tour of the academy, by prior arrangement with the school office, and can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome.
