The St. Peter Catholic Academy Trust includes the Roman Catholic Voluntary aided school St. Ethelbert's Catholic Primary School and Nursery. We are located on the edge of the green belt, around 1.5 miles from Slough's downtown and close to the Berkshire/Buckinghamshire border. Father Clemente, the chaplain of Baylis House School, spearheaded the construction of St. Ethelbert's School. In order to create a chapel, sanctuary, and temporary school hall with an adjoining soup kitchen, he purchased a warehouse, stable, and two sheds on the property with frontage on Victoria Street and Herschel Street. November 4th, 1885 saw the celebration of the first mass. The Dowager Duchess of Buccleuch, a recent convert, made a sizable donation in 1886 to build a school with a frontage on Victoria Street. With 25 students, the school began. A new classroom was constructed in 1889, then it was restored and reopened with 140 students in 1894. In 1949, the last extensions were made. The Juniors of St. Ethelbert's moved to Wexham Road in 1967, followed by the Infants in 1972. Children aged 3 and up begin school in the Nursery. Children between the ages of 4 and 11 can thereafter access full-time education. There are around 400 students enrolled in the two-form entry school. Along with St Anthony's Catholic Primary School and St Joseph's Catholic High School, St Ethelbert's Catholic Primary School and Nursery joined the St Peter Catholic Academy Trust in December 2016.
