establishing guidelines for the education, growth, and care of children from birth to age five. Children pick up a lot from other kids. You are your child's first teachers as parents and carers. The early learning of your child is greatly influenced by you. Your child will need to participate in a variety of activities and experiences with you starting at a very young age in order to develop their early reading and writing skills, such as singing and saying rhymes, creating and listening to music, participating in conversations, painting, and pretend play. Your youngster will be able to take the first crucial steps toward reading and writing with the aid of these exercises. At St. Cuthbert's Pre-school children take part in a high-quality communication, language and literacy development programme (Communication, Language and Literacy Development) designed to promote every child's learning through a play-based approach. To enhance the teaching of communication, language, and literacy in settings and schools, Letters and Sounds is a phonics curriculum. It expands on the experiences the kids have had with the environment's previous activities. The kids pick their own activities and play a lot while learning, and they are encouraged to apply their growing phonics knowledge to those activities. We are confident that if you can assist your child, it will have a significant impact on their learning. Pre-school staff will distribute the 'Letters and Sounds - A Guide for Parents and Carers in Early Years Settings' when your child begins to attend Pre-school. Alternatively, if you have any questions about language or communication, don't hesitate to consult the staff.
