The Year 8 team from Rainhill High School hasn't advanced to a Merseyside Cup Final in 25 years, but they more than made up for lost time by being the first team to ever place Rainhill's name on the trophy. At Liverpool's Wyncote Sports Centre, Rainhill's first final appearance since 1994 ended with a convincing 4-1 victory over Bebington Sports College. After defeating a highly-favored Bluecoat team in the semi-finals 5-2, Rainhill entered the game feeling confident. However, they were quickly brought to their senses as they let up a goal after just three minutes. Goalkeeper Jack Pilkington prevented Rainhill from falling farther behind, but Bebington found themselves on the back foot after that. At halftime, Rainhill was still down after Michael Laffey and Jayden Danns both hit the crossbar and Owen Dagnall came close with a header. Jamie Shum, Liam Farley, and Joe Morgan of Rainhill continued to limit Bebington's creative edge after the break, and both Reece Williams and Danns came dangerously close to scoring again, but the equaliser was still elusive. Bebington's resistance was eventually broken by Mikey Hayman, who thought he'd put Rainhill in front just minutes later only to see his header rebound off the underside of the bar. However, Rainhill would not be deterred, as in the game's final period, Dagnall, Williams, and Danns converted pressure into goals to give their team a storied triumph. Michael Wood, a PE instructor and team manager at Rainhill High School, said: "We are giddy with excitement! This was a lovely occasion, and the boys gave a fantastic performance. Both Bebington and our parents contributed. Their support was fantastic.".

There is nothing to like about this school if your child has special needs or needs a health plan put in place. I found none of the staff or the head helpful in any way , it was like hitting a brick wall every time you tried to have dialogue with them. I find it very worrying when a health plan is needed even with medical backup it is still ignored, I am afraid you...
