"If you have met one autistic child, you have met ONE autistic child."
Stephen Shore, MD.
We are an accepting and joyful school that values maximising the potential of each of our unique children.
Parents decide to enrol their kids in a specialty school so that they can advance socially and academically.
We value social development advancements just as much as academic advancements.
This emphasis on social growth does not imply that we have low expectations for intellectual advancement.
Our main goal is to help students become more employable while challenging the present rates (16%) of autistic persons who have stable jobs.
With an average fine points score at KS2 that is -10.9 below the national average, the prior attainment on arrival to the school is severely below the national standards (ROL Dec 2016).
95% of English and 79% of Math students in grades 9 through 11 in 2016–17 entered the school with only teacher–assessed KS2 data.
We want our students to respect not only themselves but also other people and the environment in which we live.
Our goal is for our learning environment to honour each student's accomplishments and reflect their needs.
