Students who are dedicated to learning and success and who will contribute positively to the life of our school are welcome in our sixth form. These students will take advantage of the opportunities provided by an 11–19 community and profit from them.
We provide opportunities for students to acquire credentials and job skills that are tailored to their specific needs and help them get ready for their futures.
Careful Progress Charting for Each Student.
Throughout Years 12 and 13, parents get periodic assessment reports. Parents and children are also invited to Consultation Evenings with subject tutors to discuss the progress of each individual student.
In order to ensure that every one of our students in Year 13 advances to higher education or work, this process starts with the transfer from Year 11 to the Sixth Form and continues all the way through the provision of care and support in Year 13.
Year 12 students and their parents are invited to a Sixth Form Information Evening shortly after enrolling in the Sixth Form to make sure they have all the information they need for a smooth transition into the Sixth Form and a clear understanding of our expectations of students through Years 12 and 13.
The Sixth Form years are extremely important to a student's future.
Everyday contact between students and their form tutor will take place.
With difficulties including adjusting to Sixth Form work, study habits, academic success, welfare, career, and higher education issues, their tutor will be able to assist them.
Students will receive severe problem advice from the Year Leader and Director of Sixth Form, who will also keep track of their progress.
Information on higher education and careers is accessible.
With a special preparation day and one-on-one guidance from a member of the sixth form team, students receive complete assistance throughout the UCAS application process.
The Employ Scheme, run by Mrs. Grey, our Head of Careers, as part of the tutorial programme, provides assistance to students looking for jobs or apprenticeships.
All students will participate in a special tutorial session devoted to exploring particular career options.
Through assemblies, form time with their Form tutors, Careers fairs, and educational displays throughout the Sixth Form Center, we will be boosting awareness of various opportunities students may desire to pursue throughout Apprenticeship Week and National Careers Week.
The chance our students have to participate in a variety of school and house activities, which broadens their knowledge beyond A Level academics, is one of the school's strengths.
In addition to academic courses, we provide students with an enrichment programme that supports and directs their future development.
Through extracurricular activities and community service, students have the chance to grow as individuals, collaborate with others, and learn important social and personal skills.
