The School was originally located on Park Road in Peterborough and was established in 1895 as a girls' school by a Miss Hill.
Under the direction of Mrs. Sarah Dixon, the School completed the new Refectory gallery in September 2006, launching the first stage of the Creative Arts Centre development and supplying opulent dining facilities as well as gallery space for the School's artwork.
With the renovation of the East Wing entrance, which now has a new Music Technology Classroom, new backstage area, and renovated cloakrooms for our students, Phase 2 of the Creative Arts Centre Development was finished in September 2007.
Mr. Adrian Meadows was named the school's first headmaster in September 2007, and the school council announced in November 2009 that it would expand beginning in September 2010 to admit boys into Years 7 and 12, making it the city's first independent co-educational school for students ages 4 to 18.
The school's name was changed to "The Peterborough School" to reflect this development.
A Woodard school is The Peterborough School.
Even though The Woodard Schools are dispersed throughout England and Wales, they all have a similar educational philosophy that values variety, empowers students, and adds to a child's overall growth.

A Woodard education places a high importance on each person's spiritual and moral growth, giving them courage, self-assurance, and respect for others.

The Woodard family of schools offers numerous chances for inter-school collaboration, the exchange of best practises, and strength and knowledge in the field of education.
Our pioneering tradition places a high value on management and leadership.
The Woodard Schools provide a wide range of extracurricular activities, expert teaching, and efficient pastoral care in beautiful, welcoming settings with modern facilities.
The education provided by Woodard Schools is based on the founder's original vision for the twenty-first century.
a perspective that challenges individuals who think education merely entails teaching and developing particular skills.
The Woodard educational philosophy emphasises whole-person education in order to maximise each student's individual potential.
