From the Medeshamstede Academy
Before becoming Medeshamstede Academy, City of Peterborough Academy was a special school. As we update our documentation, some parts of this website may still make reference to our previous name. There are Education, Health, and Care Plans for each of our students. The majority of our students reside in Peterborough City, while some come from Cambridgeshire. On occasion, students from nearby counties like Lincolnshire and Rutland are assigned to study with us. Our school offers students a tranquil, secure, and encouraging environment where they can flourish. Building trusting connections with parents, carers, and other professionals is essential to ensure that each student's needs are met in a way that allows them to achieve the best results. Our committed, skilled, and well-trained staff members skillfully organise learning for students that is interesting and stimulating, frequently using students' specific interests as a focus point. The programme is comprehensive and as individually tailored as feasible. The curriculum is further enhanced with off-site and residential tours, home cooking classes, and independent training. In order to help students get ready for the next level of their education, a variety of accreditation is available in different topics, ranging from entry level to GCSE. The Greenwood Academies Trust, established in 2009 and educating over 16,000 students in seven local authority areas, including Nottingham City, Nottinghamshire, Leicester City, Northamptonshire, Peterborough, Lincolnshire, and Central Bedfordshire, is the sponsor of this school.
