From the Oratory Roman Catholic Primary School
We started out as the first free Catholic elementary school in London a little over 150 years ago. Catholicism permeates every aspect of life at the school, which is under the trusteeship of the Oratory Fathers from Reception to Year 6. Our chaplain conducts regular Masses in the school and makes multiple weekly visits. Our two major annual events are the Leavers' Mass and First Communion. Above all, Christ's message is expressed in the kindness children are taught to show each other; not only in the particular importance we put on Juniors looking after Infants in our Owl and Owlet programme, but in everyday behaviour. This results in a warm, joyful school with a diverse population of students and family. Our school has a diverse student body, and international week is a carnival of country attire, tales, and cuisine. In addition to termly workshops regarding changes in education, termly meetings for parents with class instructors, and a Parent Forum where parents can voice any concerns, there is a passionate Parents' Association. Although the Oratory Primary School is inclusive, we are very proud of our academic record and bringing out the best in students of all abilities: We work with numerous outside professionals to support kids who need some extra confidence, and among the many after-school activities are ballet, chess, choir, yoga, and lessons in a variety of instruments. The house of the week (Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue) serves as a focal point for friendly competition. Despite the fact that our facility is older, it is equipped with every educational tool now available. And we have an admirable track record in sports for a school that is located across a road from the playground. Our school's motto, "We work together, we play together, we laugh together, and we pray together," is not just a catchphrase.
