Our history programme at North Walkden is designed to be inclusive to all students.
Our goals are to satisfy the requirements of the National Curriculum for History, provide a broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum that fully embraces British Values, ensure the progressive development of historical concepts, knowledge, and skills, and allow the students to study life in the past.
At North Walkden, we strive to provide students with a high-quality history education that will pique their interest in both British and global history.
We use a progressive curriculum throughout the entire school to ensure excellent levels of history teaching and learning.
A half-termly theme is dedicated to teaching history, with a concentration on the information and abilities outlined in the National Curriculum.
This will have the effect of ensuring that students at North Walkden have the historical knowledge and skills necessary to be prepared for the Key Stage 3 curriculum as well as adult life in the larger community.
