From the Mellor Primary School
Mellor Primary School is unquestionably a school at the centre of the neighbourhood.
We now have 219 students from kindergarten through sixth grade.
The school converted to a primary Academy in October 2011, making it the first elementary school in Stockport to do so on its own.
As a result, we have a lot more freedom and flexibility to administer the school to meet the unique requirements of our students.
When they turn three, kids can begin our school in the Nursery.
As the school has grown, so too have the staff numbers since, in our opinion, the best resource for fostering learning is the calibre and staff-to-student ratio.
At Mellor, there are 33 employees, including teachers, teaching assistants, and various support personnel.
To provide every student the chance to grow personally and excel in any areas where they may have a specific gift, the school offers an expanded curriculum that is comprehensive and balanced.
Our goal is for kids to achieve more than they can.
In Juniors, kids have access to a variety of musical instruments, and our school has an orchestra and choir.
Lacrosse, netball, football, gardening, "active kids," Irish dance, homework club, karate, forest school club, orchestra, and chorus are just a few of the many before and after-school clubs we offer.
