Melior Community Academy opened on January 1st 2013 and is sponsored by the Delta Academies Trust (Delta). Our new academy status represents the beginning of a new era for our students, community and teachers. We are very excited be a part of Delta and look forward with great optimism to working collaboratively with the trust and all of our new partner academies.
In 2011 we were fortunate enough to move into a brand new state of the art 18M building. It is a stunning, fit for purpose learning environment where we expect every member of our Academy community to 'Strive to better yourself'. Our specialisms of Business, Enterprise and the Arts are a very strong theme of the academy, and we are delighted to have strong links with local businesses and arts bodies.
The move from Primary to Secondary School is an important and very exciting time in a young person's life. For many students it is perhaps the most significant step so far in their education. You will want to be assured that this transition is a smooth and happy experience for your child.
Learning is at the heart of everything that we do. High achievement is expected and success celebrated. At Melior you can expect a culture of 'child centeredness', challenge and high expectations in order to help your child reach their full potential.
Melior Community Academy has a very positive learning environment within which young people can develop a love of learning, high self esteem and a moral code that will enable them to contribute positively to the world of the 21st century.
We want all young people to bring to school a 'can do' attitude, a willingness to contribute, a respect for others and a determination to give their best. Parents are expected and encouraged to work with us to support our values.
