We hope that your child's experience at our school will be enjoyable and fulfilling in every way. We extend a very warm welcome to you and your family. Our school was built in 1894 and whilst the building retains much of its quirky, Victorian splendour, it has established itself as a warm, friendly school, with inclusion and achievement of all children at its heart. All of our actions are motivated by our school's ethos and visions. The school has a very strong team ethos, with parents and carers, children, staff, governors and members of our community working together to ensure all our children experience the joy of learning and achieve the highest possible academic, social and creative standards. Being able to provide services to a community that is culturally and linguistically diverse and having all of our students benefit from this rich learning environment is one of our top priorities. We think that effective communication between the home and the school is essential to success and advantageous for all kids. Our school prospectus, which is revised yearly, is filled with helpful details regarding the present structure and aims of our institution. We provide termly chances for you to meet your child's teacher in order to ensure that you may participate in their learning. You will also receive learning targets for your child termly in years 1-6 and can access and contribute to 'learning journeys' in FS1 and FS2. We also encourage visitors to the school all year long, either by appointment or during one of our frequent celebration assemblies. We strongly recommend that prospective parents and carers visit the school during the school day, to fully appreciate the quality of experience of the children at Meersbrook Bank, and will be happy to give further information then, or by phone or email.
