Lorton School adopts a child-centered approach to learning in a loving family environment with the goal of having high standards for personal and social development that lead to high expectations for academic accomplishment. 'Most teaching is fine, but some of it is spectacular. Staff members maintain high standards for students and employ a variety of successful strategies to engage and inspire them. Students are given innovative teaching methods and regular chances to develop their talents through activities related to science, art, music, and technology. Working closely with parents to involve them in their children's education and development is a goal of school administrators. The way students behave in class and around the school is excellent. Students are self-assured, polite to one another, and respectful of their teachers and other staff members.
