From the Livingstone Primary School
We are located on the outskirts of Bedford's historic centre. Our historic 1893 structure has a lot to offer. The large school hall serves as the focal point for all school events. For kids ages four to eleven, there are now twelve classes. We also operate a preschool for children ages 3 and 4. Our school's wide and lovely grounds are an added plus. An ambitious construction project that began in June 2011 has added 10 additional classrooms to the school's existing Victorian-style campus. This has been updated to accommodate our growth to a two-form entry, which started in September 2012. We now have capacity for up to 60 children in our Reception classes, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6; space for up to 420 pupils. Every ethnic group is recognised and cherished in our society, which is proud of its multi-cultural identity. About 40 distinct languages are spoken here. For families who are new to the school and for whose English may not be their first language, we have quick and helpful induction methods. We help children to settle quickly to learning and all staff understand the difficulties that children may experience coming to a new and sometimes unfamiliar setting.
