I'm happy to extend a very warm welcome to your visit to our website on behalf of the Lakelands Academy students, staff, and governors.
It should give you an idea of the variety of opportunities—both within and outside the classroom—that we provide to all of our students. However, to fully understand the "Lakelands ethos," I extend an invitation for you to visit us in person.
We are all quite proud of our school and are always glad to show guests through our first-rate facilities.
Over the last six years, we have acquired financing of almost four million pounds to build a learning environment fit for the future. We are constantly working to improve the experience of our students.
We now have a brand-new science building, a Creative Arts and Technology Area, a dining hall, and improved English and World Studies study spaces (MFL and Humanities).
Many of our previous students take the time to visit us again and serve as role models for the younger generation by demonstrating the potential of a Lakelands education.
Lakelands is, of course, primarily a learning environment, and we take great pride in the "culture of high expectations" that was praised by Ofsted in 2016.
The challenge didn't deter our kids, as they excelled in a variety of subjects.
In math, 74% of students and 79% of pupils, respectively, achieved a Grade 4 or higher, which is comparable to a "C."
The majority of students in grades 7-9 across a wide range of courses earned A*–As, including some in grade 9 introduced in 2017 to recognise the achievements of the nation's greatest achievers.
These outstanding numbers unequivocally demonstrate how the school has persevered through a period of profound change, and they demonstrate the close collaboration between our teaching staff and the students who are under their supervision.
We work hard to ensure that our kids make some of the best memories possible throughout their time with us since we believe that school should be about creating memories as well as bright futures.
We understand how much young people gain from exploring the world beyond themselves, which is why we host annual rites of passage like Festival Week, where rivalry between our four "houses" reaches a fever pitch, the annual school production, and Year 11 Prom, as well as a dizzying array of trips both domestically and abroad.
We would be happy to show you around and walk you through the procedure if you were thinking about applying for your child to join us.

I have recently left and let me tell you one thing: this is not the family environment they claim to be, unless you mean a dysfunctional family with a totalitarian father, unruly kids and the weird aunts who tell you way too much about their personal lives. New rules introduced by the head have ignored the root issues at hand and are instead a failed attempt to gain control where it is unneeded. Year 11s...
